A chance to Discover new Talents
Our students enjoy taking part in a broad range of educational, cultural and sporting activities through the school, but as boarders they also have access to a dedicated programme of extra-curricular activities.
Boarders in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 are expected to take part in at least two activities during the week and two activities at weekends, one on each day.
Boarders in Years 11-13 are encouraged to participate in regular activities and gain a healthy balance between academic work, the opportunities that are on offer and socialising.
…There Is a strong sense of Community within the Boarding HOuse…
There is a strong sense of community within the boarding house and boarders are placed in one of two houses, Windermere and Coniston. These houses enjoy a range of competitive activities throughout the year, bringing the boarders together to celebrate achievement and friendship.
We believe that regular participation in extra-curricular activities provides a chance for students to discover new talents, building character, increasing resilience and encouraging greater self-confidence. We also provide a range of fun social activities that young people would enjoy at home.
Recent activities have included:
- Annual proms and regular boarding socials
- Charity events
- Creative workshops
- Community projects
- Cultural visits
- Duke of Edinburgh Award
- House competitions
- Live music
- Outdoor adventure
- Photography clubs
- Pony trekking
- Problem solving
- Public speaking
- Sports tournaments
- Shopping trips
- Ten Pin Bowling
- Theatre/cinema trips
- Young enterprise
We encourage students to take the time to practice their faith, and have good links with the local Parish Church, Heversham St Peter’s.
Please note: The cost for any paid for activities that students sign up for will be added to the end of term bill.
